The Rocks For Fun Cafe is in Marion, Wisconsin. He used to serve food but now only sells frozen pasties. Still worth a stop for a laugh and a delicious meal for later. MsAli thanks for the reminder, I'll see if I can't scare up my thread from years ago.

LOL! This would go right along with the museum of rock faces that Pat posted. Fun stuff! Glad y'all had a good time.

Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend. That place looks like it's a "must stop" shop - especially if the pasties are good!

By the name of the thread you wouldn't think it would be a trip report. BEWARE OF ROCK!

Nate said that isn't the one. He thought it was a thread dedicated just to the Rocks for Fun.

Thanks Jean rockpickerforever, I swear I put a thread up dedicated to the cafe, but maybe not. I did have breakfast there way back then and thought I got pictures of all his goofy stuff inside like what Ali posted. Hey Photobucket 🖕 Ugh

Great place to visit, looks like a lot of fun. Question from West coast where terminology is different: What is a "pastie"?

Great place to visit, looks like a lot of fun. Question from West coast where terminology is different: What is a "pastie"? It is a baked pastry with vegetable and or meat filling. Kind of like an Empanada

Thanks for the description, sounds good. I don't know what an empanada is either, I think Mexican food in origin. Most of that stuff is way over my spice limit which is at about Jello. Don't like tasting the same thing for days.
I looked empanada recipes up, huge variety of things, make 'em any way you want. I'll have to tinker with that some. The word "pasty" did come up in one description I read. Thanks for the tip. Larry

Thanks for the recipe. I'm going to have to try it. Haven't had a pasty since I moved to AZ.

Thanks for the recipe. I'm going to have to try it. Haven't had a pasty since I moved to AZ. I never have, but it's on my list now. Very similar to a Jamaican meat patty. If any of Y'all have a Jamaican place nearby do check it out! It's addictive
