Some of it looks definitely like chalcedony, probably you have also some cherts here, but I don't know this region enough to be sure.

If I found that center one (the top one in the middle) out while hunting for Fairburn Agates, I would've expected that to be one! It just looks like it should be!
(Maybe that's why I'm not finding any! LOL)

If ur talking the one in the top photo I think it might be. My issue is if the rock is whole I have nothing to cut it open. I have a dremel shaft with a 1/2 diamond disk attached to my drill. :;0) I can do pebbles.

I've purchased a tile saw for rock-cutting (nothing massive) and I've been waiting to set it up until after I get the house sided (only because the siding is taking up half the garage!). I've got a pile of rocks just waiting to be opened!

The third picture really does look like a prairie agate. You could try tumbling them as they are to see how they come out. If you don't have enough rocks of the same hardness to fill the barrel, you can always use ceramic media to fill the load. I do that with my local chert and marble that I find.
You guys are going to love the tile saw! I got an inexpensive one a month or so ago and I have so much fun with it!

I've seen those less expensive tile saws. How do u hold the rock while cutting it? They look like the holding jig is far away from the blade.

I've used a tile saw for a few years now (on my 5th or 6th blade) and I've always held the rock in my hands. Tried using gloves at first but they only got in the way and were clumsy to use so I ditched them......I use the "turbo" blades and still have all 10 fingers

The rocks in the second image look like chert or flint to me. They appear to have sub-conchoidal fracture, not the crisp shell-like fracture of chalcedony. The texture looks a bit "sugary," if that's the right word. Chalcedony has a clear translucent quality. Post more images when you get that saw running.

kozman I use big blue rubber gloves I got from Home Depot when I cut. They protect me from any toxic materials that might be in or on the rock. (Copper, lead, icky pollution from the creeks, etc.) They also have a good grip. I also use them when I do acid polishing or cleaning. As long as your saw has a Continuous Rim diamond blade, it shouldn't cut you. It's more like a sanding disk. Don't get a blade with slots cut in it. Those will slice you like a normal saw. Rookie Rockhound has some good cutting videos on youtube.

Yeah, they'll no longer update it, to me, that just means no updates to screw it up anymore, lol.
