We went from 102 degrees on Saturday, to possible snow tonight with temperatures getting to the mid-30's. It's snowing in the Black Hills right now, but may not clear the hills to reach us here in Rapid City (it very well could though). It is supposed to get down to freezing tomorrow night. I just can't stomach the idea of using the air conditioner and switching to heat in a matter of 48 hours!

It's crazy and then next weekend it's back up again And I'm blaming Evan for saying the S word

I actually stand corrected...I saw on the news tonight we hit a record of 104 degrees on Saturday! And using the "S" word right now is soooo wrong, I know!

Still 95 at 19:30. Can’t even think about a stove.
The upside: I picked about a gallon of perfect tomatoes yesterday.
The weather gods say 96 tomorrow. Down from 109. A/C still dead. Currently 88 inside the house. Sweating buckets.

Do you clean that bad boy from the front or the top ? From the side. There is a small door for loading wood and cleaning.

I had to add a pic I took this morning...since it SHOULDN'T be this time of year! The news was calling for a Summertime Winter Storm! There was more snow cover at 4am, but too dark for pics...started melting by 6am when I took the pic...and gone by midmorning...but it (the "S" word) did arrive! ps. I finally zoomed in on the stove. That stone really does make that stove look sharp!

They do use some beautiful stone in those stoves, they had several on display in one of the local stores here in Waterloo Iowa !

Very handsome stove you have there. Quite a few years ago I had three fireplace/stove stores selling wood, pellet and gas units. I installed many hundreds through the years and then another career came calling. I never get tired of looking at stoves like yours.

If anyone has any tips on this bad boy, we would appreciate it Well, since you asked . . . those small pieces of concrete paver under the legs would make me nervous. The stove might sit there just fine for a hundred years, but if a log slips out of your hand or whatever . . . regular brick-sized pavers would look a lot more stable to my eyes. Also surprised there’s no removable ash pan underneath but good luck with the stove and when you’re running it hot this winter, try cookin’ some tiger eye on the top.

I would agree that the tall pavers could present an issue. I realize the stove is probably pretty heavy but it does seem that the right bump would send it off those. Wider and less likely to topple might be better.

I'm not a fan of them under there either and it's something I've been considering changing, but it's been like that for several years now As far as an ash pan there isn't an opening for the ashes to drop out
