The tiger eye piece broke with huge slope on it. That slope ended up being what more or less shows all the layers from one point of view. Now I'm going to try to break more that way on purpose.
Last month I tumbled a lot of blue and red for first time. Repeatedly they would deteriorate in 600 or 1,000 or alum ox polish along their fibrous edges. But with gold, I hardly ever have problems.

Your tiger eye with that layer of hematite and red jasper in it has tiger iron written all over it.

I did buy some tiger iron pieces a few years ago. Didn't think I had put any in process yet, but maybe I did. I have one large piece that is very heavy. If it's all this beautiful, I will end up preferring it over tiger's eye I think.
