Hi there,
So as I said in my intro post I just recently bought my first tumbler. I am having an issue where the medical tubing to grip and turn the barrel keeps sliding to one side of the turning rod. This is causing friction and the stopping of my tumbler. I thankfully catch it early and dont have any damage to the engine. Any advice on what I'm doing wrong or can do to prevent this in the future?
Also, please help with educating me on proper terminology above.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like the sheathing is too big a diameter for the rod that it's not fitting snugly.
Remove the rod, and take it to a hardware or mechanical shop. Surely they would have other rubber hose in smaller diameter you could put on (a bit of effort but probably not terrible).
OR you could simply remove the tumbler rod, add some silicone adhesive between the rod and the rubber sheathing and just hold the sheathing against the rod until it sets firmly. Reseat the rod, and done.
OR you could simply wrap some electrical tape around the rods on either end of the rod (beside where the sheathing ends/doesn't cover) to act as an obstacle and prevent the sliding. If it didn't work, easy enough to remove and try a different method.
I have all kinds of ideas, but I don't know how practical they are without knowing your tumbler.

I read some of the reviews and one of them mentioned they oiled the bearings. They got oil under the tubing on the shaft and it quit turning the barrel because shaft was slipping in the tubing. Their fix was to melt the tubing ends onto the shaft. They said it seemed to fix the slippage. You might try that. Also you might want to take the shaft out and clean under the tubing as best as you can. Different tubing that is a little longer would help keep it from sliding from under the barrel. Don't give up it is possible to recover from this little problem. Remember this is a hobby and it is supposed to be fun.

inbtb I didn't plan on giving up! That was why I found ya'll, figured I'd be able to find a solution. That definitely seems like an optimal solution. Just got back from a week and a half out of town so will give it a try!
