Okay. So they've both arrived. Now I have to stop slobbering over pics of other people's beautiful rocks on here and start learning how to use these wonderful tools to see if I can do it myself! Thumler's Model B Rotary Tumbler Thumler's UV-18 Vibratory Tumbler Whoot Whoot!

I hope you can take the shine off of the machines, and put it on the rocks.

Congrats! Nothing like nice, shiny new equipment to get you all excited. Now your next step is to get it all dirty. That's the really fun part! Looking forward to watching your tumbling adventures.

Thank you SO much! I'm nervous and excited! I hope you can take the shine off of the machines, and put it on the rocks. I was almost embarrassed to show pics of them in this ridiculously clean state! LOL Looks great! If you get hooked you will be adding more soon. I'm hooked and I haven't even started yet! LOL Looking forward to seeing your results. Me too...unless I mess these batches up! Right!!! Whoot Whoot! Congrats! Nothing like nice, shiny new equipment to get you all excited. Now your next step is to get it all dirty. That's the really fun part! Looking forward to watching your tumbling adventures. I had to take a picture of them in that state as I don't expect them to ever be in that state again! LOL Hey those tumblers look Familiar! I Love my thumler's, all 8 of them ! Now you're just bragging! LOL - I've gotta save up quite a bit of pocket change to catch up to EIGHT! And so it begins.... Thank you SO much for helping me out with all my "noob" questions on the forum and behind the scenes as well! You've been a real help with all my newly acquired addictions! (My wife thinks you're an enabler! LOL) Congratulations. Now go get those tumblers tumbling or vibing ...awww heck you know what I mean...get em dirty...lol. I have to figure out which one does what first! (Kidding!) Nice! Do you have a first batch picked out? I do! I have a mixed batch ready to go in the Vibratory. I'm pretty sure I've got some improper stones in that batch (possibly too soft). For the Rotary, I have about 4 gallons (not all for the first batch!) of bubble gum agates. So the first batch in the Rotary will be all Bubble Gum agates! Wish me luck!

This is only the beginning for you jasoninsd. Things just keep growing. lol The UV-18 s great, but it takes a lot to feed it, thus how the number of my tumblers grew.

And your wife is absolutely correct- I am definitely an enabler. Along with one or two others here on RTH. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking that you might be, too, Jason... 😁

Looks like you're off to a rocking start. Good Luck. I hope you have a quiet spot for the UV-18. Mine was really LOUD and aggressive. Maybe it was the way I loaded it. I was a newbie at the time and didn't play with it much before I sold it. After two other owners, it vibrated all the way back to me.

I really enjoy my UV-18 and think it will do a great job for you. If you put good material in you will get great material out if you don't rush the process. I, however, have found that cabs with mixed hardness-(softness) can be a crapshoot. The UV-18 may be noisy but so is grinding on a flat lap. Looking forward to seeing your finished material.

You are going to love that UV! Oh...I already do! Thanks James! This is only the beginning for you jasoninsd. Things just keep growing. lol The UV-18 s great, but it takes a lot to feed it, thus how the number of my tumblers grew. It's got a bigger appetite than a Hungry Hungry Hippo! LOL And your wife is absolutely correct- I am definitely an enabler. Along with one or two others here on RTH. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking that you might be, too, Jason... 😁 Wait...what...who me? No way! (Wanna meet up at the Buttes??? LOL) Awesome, now you will be busy.... Yes...but in a good and pleasurable way! Nice! That's a happy picture! They're already getting dirty! You know they say if you love something set it free...and if it comes back... LOL It's noisy...but I wouldn't say it's "loud" just yet. I have it running in the garage at the moment and will be "working" on the wife here in the next week or so in order to convince her we need to run it downstairs as it'll get too cold too quick for running it outside! (Wish me luck!) I really enjoy my UV-18 and think it will do a great job for you. If you put good material in you will get great material out if you don't rush the process. I, however, have found that cabs with mixed hardness-(softness) can be a crapshoot. The UV-18 may be noisy but so is grinding on a flat lap. Looking forward to seeing your finished material. It's going to be a severe learning curve for me as to what constitutes "good material"...I'll get there. We all had/have to start somewhere!
