On second thought is that pet wood limb? Near your thumb kinda looks like bark do you have pictures of the outside

What does the piece that is touching your thumb look like is that the same pic I bought some pretty colorful limb casts from crooked creek Oregon this winter that are pretty nice and do have nice banding Here’s one the others are in packed in a box there all different I kept this one out it was easy to get to

Wish I could help you out, Ali, but I don't have a clue. All I can say is it looks more like the South American banded agates more than anything else I can think of.

Probably a long shot but does anyone have any ideas what This looks like a birds head you should make your self a pendant with it. Then you will have a unique one of a kind pendant

The banding does remind me of Brazilian agate, but IDK about the matrix. I guess all the Brazilian agates I've seen are either weathered or cobbed.
Loving the "bird beak." Can't wait to see what you do with it.

You've inspired me to post a few of my own that I'm not sure about. And I can see where yours might be. Part of the crust looks-bark like. Some of the matrix *MIGHT* show remnants of either grain, or rhyolitic flow banding (maybe polishing will make that easier to see). I can't tell for sure. And I have seen rot-wood where the entire center filled with agate. Good luck with the ID. Wish I could help.
