Just wanted to share some recent cabs I've done. These first ones are all locally collected from San Jacinto river gravel. all but one are pet wood. this one is unknown material. I see a bear - Turkish stick agate. this is from a small chunk I purchased from roy . this one I see a hungry baby bird. unknown- it's a little less blue in person than in pic- another unknown material. was a bit surprised at the color of this one because it was more of a purple color than pink before grinding. like the pink better anyways. more unknown material- laguna lace- this one has some flaws but so far is only cab from the slab that didnt fall apart at the seams. Skaggs Green Jasper. was bummed about this one as this was only small piece I had of material. it was supposed to be an egg shape but big chunk broke off when grinding. and then lots of cracks showed up when sanding. none of which I noticed before grinding. and lastly, Wave Hill Agate- Thanks for looking and If you can ID any of the unknowns pls let me know!

You have a great assortment! Nice work. I don't think I can help with IDs. Love the laguna and wave hill. I see the bear, too! Not the bird, though.

Wow send me some gravel, and I won’t hack your cloudinary. Just kidding. I do remember the setting, it’s incoming transformations. How is your bandwidth doing now?

They don't look squished to me. maybe squished is wrong description. they are stretched out left and right and shortened top to bottom, if that makes sense. they all appear fatter and shorter on my end

Love the San Jacinto wood pieces! The first unknown (bear) is jangling something in my brain - something to do with Idaho, but I can't recall what. Second with the bluish agate looks like some petrified wood I've seen (moss among bits of rotted wood). Third reminds me of some Munjina and Mooka jasper pieces I've seen. No clue about the unknown carnelian colored piece (beautiful, though!). Too bad about the Skaggs experience - it is can be spectacular stuff (I particularly have liked the pieces with whites and purples among the blue that I've had), but does tend to have internal flaws to work around. You still managed a pretty piece with what was left.

I have another cab of same material I started working on that has beautiful blue green in it as well. il post pic of that one as well and maybe can help to ID it. id love to find out what material that is.

@rocks2dust, this is from same material as one with bear. does it help any? That's gorgeous! I still can't get the brain cell to do more than flicker faintly. The only other thing that comes to mind is Prueheart, depending on how it was sliced, so could maybe be something from that area.

After seeing the first five, I was having trouble picking a favorite. By the time I scrolled through, it was impossible. Nice work. Some incredible wood pieces, and you definitely did them justice.
