Nice stones! I had no idea aventurine could have patterns like that. That's because most Aventurine sold as semi-precious mineral material is not banded or wrapped with other quartz like inclusions..........Some time back, The Rock Shed had this material (blue) and I purchased a couple lbs. To my surprise most, 95% of it, was solid colored, but a few pieces had color and extremities that were of another nature of chalcedony quartz........not common, but not rare either.

Nice stones! I had no idea aventurine could have patterns like that. I bought these from Burnie's Rock Shop, Madison, Wisconsin. I do half in the rotary tumbler round them and half "natural" in the vibratory tumbler. My family is split on how they like finished stones.

I love Bernie's! I need to head down there soon and grab some grit. I always end up leaving with rocks even though I don't need anymore. Which ones do you like better? "natural" or rounded?

Since the covid outbreak I buy my grit there as well. I also leave with 3-4 lbs of what ever they have bagged up in the rough rock bins.
For obsidian and banded rock I like rounded. For rocks like polychrome jasper or lake superior agates I like the natural form.

Nice work! Love that patterning. The piece on the right almost looks like sodalite.

I waffle around about natural or rounded. I typically run my local travertine and fossil rock through the vibe only. They loose their sharp edges but still retain their nice shapes and patterns. Pretty much every thing else goes through stage 1 rotary. I haven't tried obsidian yet.
