OK, this thread is totally jasoninsd 's fault! He and I were talking about Crazy Lace , and now it's a brain-worm. Much like an ear-worm, the only way to get rid of it is to share. So here is another (hopefully perpetual and active) thread dedicated to, let's say Mexican agates in general. While it is being started on a Thursday, we can alliterates this one more easily than my last one: Mexican Agate Monday. If you have something that is substantially similar to a Mexican agate that was found reasonably near the border (say Rio Grande/Falcon Lake Texas...), go ahead and add. Same goes for something found far away, but has common elemnts (say speckles in St. Egedien t-eggs). Just make sure to make it clear that you are posting it as a "common element," and let us know its birthplace I mostly just came to view all the gorgeous pictures ( oldschoolrocker - I want them all! Wow!) and to say that I kindly blame/curse/thank jasoninsd and miket for starting my obsession with fairburn agates. That is all.

Even if/when you find/acquire one...it just leads to the next one...and the next one...ad infinitum!

Honestly I've had so much fun with rock stuff over the years, I don't know what I did for fun before. I just tell people that AA might 12 steps, but Rock Addiction only has 4, and starts with "Coarse".....

RWA3006 - It's hard to be in denial now that a 14" saw and a Genie somehow appeared in the shop...

I'm a great fan of Mexico's Laguna agate. Here's an example I cut some time back.

Today's selection: DSC_1979_Mexican lace agate slab by Stephan T., on Flickr A nice, beefy slab that came as part of the estate rock that I bought about 10 years ago. Not touched yet. Unlikely to be cabbed, I'll flat lap it eventually.

Here's one that just found a new happy home. It's Rosetta Lace agate. This material often has vibrant reds and peach tones.

I've got a batch of Crazy Lace that I'm trying to get through the first stage in the tumbler...I need to trim/grind a bunch and run it again, but I keep getting sidetracked on the warm days with cutting slabs or preforms for cabbing. My tumbling is getting sidetracked! I did get some Flower of Peach Lace Agate. I should take some pics of the slabs I cut and post those...

Love the orbs in that one stephan! I just "blind" grabbed a preform out of my bag of Flower of Peach Lace Agates. I must have close to 75 preforms cut out...with another 20 pounds of this material ordered. I love this stuff and can't wait to start cabbing some of it!
