woodman - I need to give Richardson's Ranch a call and see about getting a large flat rate box of plume or moss sent. I can't wait to see your new treasures once they're cut! Fossilman - Thanks Mike! Here's a couple more Cold Mountain Thunderegg cabs I did earlier this week. The first one has a fracture going across the middle, but I thought the pattern looked too good to let it go...and it held together...so I finished it. I bought some moss bed eggs, all they had was fairly small but will see what i get when I start cutting it! You never know!

Is that a slab or a half? That would make a gorgeous cab!!! It’s a half. I had a long debate with myself about it.

It was just a quick face polish to see what’s there. Now that I know… who knows? I may yet change my mind. The one thing holding me back is that with these little ones, sometimes the agate ends abruptly, and then there’s too much matrix in the cab.

Yeah, to be honest, I don't know that I would be willing to risk it and lose that gorgeous specimen. Thundereggs like that one just seem "otherworldly" to me...

Some sort of underwater scene, I always think.

woodman - I have had ZERO luck with any of the opal ones that I've cut. The opal is highly fractured and crumbly...plus there hasn't been anything in them that allows for any cabs...at least not in the ones that I've cut. (Plus they're "boring" compared to some of the other ones. )
