JR8675309 - Cool eggs! That's the first pic I remember seeing of a T-egg from the Polka Dot Mine. Interesting lines happening in the matrix - predominantly on the right side there...

jasoninsd, yes very cool lines in this egg (it's giant and is providing many slices). They just discovered a new bed with what I'd consider better eggs. I may go back this weekend and dig more. I think you need an egg or a slice!

I think you need an egg or a slice! Who doesn't need more Thundereggs in their arsenal, right?! LOL When digging for these eggs, is the ground hard packed dirt, or what is it like? (I only know what it's like going after Teepee Canyon Agate nodules...which entails mining them out of the bedrock!) If you do go this weekend, and if you think of it, it would be cool to post some pics here in the T-eggs thread of what it's like there at the Polka Dot Mine... (That's me begging to have a visual so I can live vicariously! LOL) Edit before I posted - LOL - I did look them up on Google and see they do have a Facebook page with pictures showing what the mining is like. And, I see they're offering 20% off on mined material on Saturday - they're closed Monday.

jasoninsd, 20% off thanks for the heads up! Yes, the Facebook page is enlightening. Still I'd be happy to post pix.

It's called Thunderegg Thursdays, purely for the alliteration, since I like Randy's Turd Tuesday thread. The only time restriction is that the English name for the day of the week must end in a "y". Thanks for sharing.

The next part you need to read to the tune of AC DC’s Thunder Struck… You’ve been… Thunder Nut! Sorry, that might be one of those things better left in my head. 🎶For Those With Cool Rocks…We Salute You🎶

Tech diff... I am impressed that you are able to clamp that big Thunderegg. I did notice the custom wooden handled paint brush wedge!!! Whatever it takes!!!

HankRocks right??! That's the biggest I've cut, 8". Didn't overheat so I was happy. I really should cut some wedges.
