Just wondering if anyone is making plans for Quartzsite this January? Does anyone have any updated information on the big shows - Desert Gardens and the PowWow? catmandewe are you and Chris headed down? Aside from figuring out if we can go this year, I'm trying to decide if I should create a 2021 event shirt...

We are planning on heading down mid December, according to the venue its still a go, so unless the whole country gets shut down we should be there.

We have a plan in place to visit both Quartzite and Tucson for our big annual shopping trips, but only if things turn around from the current worrying trend. I'm just now trying to piece together our high school soccer schedule for the 2021 season, which moved from winter 2020 to spring 2021. All the other high school coaches are pretty skeptical....and we don't start until February 22. Scary!

Unless something has changed since October 26th, Tuscon is cancelled.

That link only talks about only one of many Tucson shows being cancelled. Lynn

We aren't planning on Q this year, though we may be driving by at times. We'll be dealing with trying to relocate my folks from the Tucson area to somewhere closer to family...likely Las Vegas. With that being the focus, we're not making any hard plans for recreational trips.

I've been watching some of the sites for the individual shows in Tucson. Most of them seem to say that they have been given the opportunity to conduct their shows if they meet Tucson's Covid guidelines. For example, Kino says they will have limits on the number of people in the buildings with one way aisles and of course masks. But for me, if the vendors can't safely come there from all over the world, then it's probably not worth going even if the shows are open. Sort of a wait and see right now.

It’s sad. I’ll leave it at that. COVID is real, COVID lockdown fatigue is real, What a year

We are currently living in the front half of a 24' toy hauler trailer in the Phoenix area, waiting for the house we will retire in to hit the market. I'm beginning to doubt that we'll be settled in by the time the shows happen. Our 10400 gr wt trailer probably weighs about 12000, much of it rocks. All that said, we are only a couple hours away, so I'm sure we'll be there at some point.

Thanks, Robin, for the nice thoughts. I was pretty much away last month, which has carried into this month with not too much online time. I've been doing "drive-bys," so to speak, just to keep up with things, and I've been doing more reading than posting.

As far as I know Quartzsite PowWow is going to be open January 20-24th and I am once again setting up there. I'll be in a different spot than last year but don't know the spot number at the moment.

I should be in Quartzsite the 29th of December to do some mining and visiting friends. As of today like drocknut stated, the Pow Wow is still a go and will be open. We will be set up there Jan. 20-24 in space numbers 274-275. Hope to see some of you all out there

Tuscon just got "postponed" until April, the county said they will not issue any permits for Jan or Feb.
Quartzsite is still open but there are restrictions and the plan is that you will get your temperature checked before you can enter the show and will be issued a wristband to get into the show.
We are getting setup but havent gotten everything out yet, finally got the lights and fencing up today.
I dont think they will allow us to have a BBQ this year, too many people so we will most likely skip it for this year.

Maybe a little appropriately socially distanced hounding in the Q area? Or a meet up at desert gardens the weekend before powwow when it will be less populated?
