I have a vintage Highland Park trim saw ( TS 10 )that has been taken apart, cleaned and stored for the the last 25 years in a box. It came to me as part of old collection that was stored in a barn. Everything had a light coat of oil and was wrapped in newspaper( July 1994 dates) From photos I can find everything is there including the hardware which is labeled in plastic bags. But a hand writhed note says that the arbor bearing needs to be replace. It does turn by hand but very tight and there is up & down play in it. Is this something that can be done with hand tools? If so where can I find Instructions. I am Geologist not an Engineer so I do not want to get in over my head. I would like to get it working for our local rock club.

Can you provide a picture of the arbor with the bearing? Sometimes you can replace a bearing with hand tools, but you may need a bearing press to remove the bearing I have a vintage Highland Park trim saw ( TS 10 )that has been taken apart, cleaned and stored for the the last 25 years in a box. If it is anything like the E-5 that I recently restored, you should not have too much trouble, the bearings are press fit, but not very tight.
