Hello again everyone. I just thought I should share a little bit of information. I just picked up an old Foredom model H flex shaft, which came with both the h.30h and h.44h square drive hand pieces. All of it had been sitting unused for years, so the grease had largely dried up. I went on the Foredom website to find replacement bearings, and they wanted a ridiculous amount to ship something that would fit in a film can. Long story short, a few minutes with the micrometer and a quick web search revealed that it is just a common 608 bearing. The same as those used in skate boards and roller blades. My local bike shop had the exact brand and part number bearing, that is shown on the Foredom site, in stock for $4 each.
I am fairly certain that the key tip and square drive handpieces use the same bearings, but it may be worth measuring.
