My wife and I were going to have my folks over for Thanksgiving dinner. Been planning it for weeks. Well, my folks were invited over to some "friends" house for coffee Monday evening then they went out for dinner at the local cafe. It wasn't until they had been over to these people's house and halfway through the course of dinner, that they finally informed my parents they were just getting over Covid. The husband said the day before was the first day he'd really felt better. Needless to say, I was livid at these people. So, we couldn't have my folks come over for Turkey Day as they will be quarantining themselves for the next two weeks. However, they live right behind our house, so my wife and I thought we'd do the neighborly thing and take them their turkey plates. My mother and I share the same sense of humor, and I knew she was as upset as I was about their "friends" ruining our plans, so I figured I'd go "overboard" when delivering...I think it made her day. Garbage bags Dish gloves Swimming goggles Hip waders Boot covers HAPPY TURKEY DAY...ONE AND ALL.

I hope your folks don't get sick and I hope they seriously reconsider that "friendship".

Too funny! But, not for a good cause. Sorry. That was a really crappy thing to do. I hope they stay well.

Unfortunately we are gonna have contact with those that have been positive or are positive.
Every day at work I have patients coming in and sometimes co-workers coming in that they are just getting over Covid. Sometimes they still have lingering symptoms
The friends should of been upfront but as we are well aware there are plenty of people out there that don't take others into consideration and plenty out there that think this is a joke.
Your parents are doing the right thing in quarantine and I really applaud them for that
Fingers crossed that they stay healthy.

Thanks Robin! I couldn't resist the getup! We all have our fingers crossed. They're both in their mid-70s and would both be classified as "high-risk"... Too funny! But, not for a good cause. Sorry. That was a really crappy thing to do. I hope they stay well. Thanks Tela. I didn't hold back on the names I was calling them when I was on the phone getting the news from my mom. I haven't been that livid with someone's apparent lack of concern for others, in I don't know how long! Thanks for the well wishes. There's a difference in coming into contact with someone who is positive "inadvertently" or unexpectedly...and then there's actions which show a complete disregard for someone else's well-being. (That's not directed at you. ) I do appreciate the positive vibes. I hope no one was thinking I was taking the situation they were put in (or Covid itself) lightly...on the contrary, I'm very upset about it. However, I acquired a trait from my mother...when the going gets tough you can either cry or laugh...and I knew doing this would put a smile on her face today...which put one on mine...
