My son and I took our first Yooperlite expedition at South Milwaukee, WI, USA shoreline. That area would be in the southwestern part of Lake Michigan. (Dressed quite warmly) We used UV flashlights, UltraFire model 502UV which worked good. The green specimens are most likely sea glass. I read they could contain uranium. www.beachcombingmagazine.com/blogs/news/ultraviolet-sea-glassThe yellow specimens I have no clue to what the are.

Very cool, looks like a good haul. Glad you dressed warmly, bet it was cold.

It was in the mid 20°F. Barely any wind which makes a big difference. The snow line is 10 feet from the unfrozen lake so I have to get hunting time in on my new hobby before everything is covered.

Yes they are cool. The man who discovered the rock had it verified as a new type of rock. He got to name the rock. He called them "yooperlite". Even trademarked the name! "Yooper" is the name we use to describe the residents of the upper peninsula of the state of Michigan. I searched last night at the North Beach in Racine, WI. The air seems to be colder when your not having fun. :0(

The glass you found is old and fluoresces due to uranium.

Add yellow filter to the camera - like yellow foil or glass - rocks will look much better.
