Just finished polishing about 2.5 lbs of rocks and decided to share my favorites. I have about 12 lbs still going and I am very excited for them to finish up in the next few weeks. Enjoy! Here is the whole batch: Nice matte polish on this: I really like this one: This one is my favorite: As you can tell, I have a soft spot for white quartz (and other similar white rocks) Thanks guys!

As I was scrolling down, I was looking at the 3rd picture with the white eyes and noticed the text saying the next was your favorite. I was thinking, how is that possible with those cool eyes? Then, yep, I totally agree. Your favorite is very cool!

Your favorite is either Thomsonite or a variety of prehnite called Patricianite. If you found it in Thunder Bay, Canada, it might be Thomsonite. If you found it in Michigan, it's probably Patricianite. That eye agate just before it is awesome.

I do think I have some prehnite in here as well though.

Have you been to the AE Seaman Mineral Museum at Michigan Tech? They have a really good display showing both Thompsonite and Prehnite from the Keweenaw. They both can have eyes like yours and they look very similar. Check out this article: www.snobappealjewelry.com/blog/patricianite-or-not/This page shows a nice picture comparing the two rocks: www.bethmillner.com/blogs/jewelry-business-blog/copper-banded-agates-and-u-p-thomsonite

Great job on the tumble Joe! Thanks for taking the time to post the pics. I have to say the little orbicular is probably my fave.

I am a Tech student studying environmental engineering so some of my geology classes have drawn me up to the museum a few times. Based on your links I would agree that my rock isn't Thomsonite. True Thompsonite is gorgeous, I would love to find some of that someday if I'm up on the north shore of Lake Superior.

Great Great Lakes tumble Joe. White is my favorite too.
In the landscape industry this statement is pretty much agreed upon as far as flower colors are concerned: White stands out most next to black -- so use that same idea in garden design by combining plants with light-color flowers or foliage with darker ones.
Lily white agate is a hot item. Assumption could be made that it was formed in the purest of environments.
Native man in my area made his arrowheads out of whitest quartz that would blind you when the sun shined down on them. Perhaps it assisted him in retrieving his arrows... Some how some way he found the whitest of quartz; us modern day rock hunters can't seem to find his sources of such a white quartz.
