Been too long since I've posted anything. Just busy I guess, or just lazy-take your pick. Thought I'd post a few pictures from the last couple of batches just so I don't forget how. Don't know what these are, tumbled for a friend. Know that he bought the rock in Quartzsite last year.
Crazy Lace and Laguna Lace (that's what they were labeled anyway)
Lavic Little piece of Moroccan Seam Agate
Nevada rhyolite
The rest are just some stuff we picked up wandering around in the desert
Thanks for looking and have a great day.

The first of the "unknowns" has to be my favorite...you know the self-collected "unknown" one just found by chance!

Love those rhyolites! Pretty pastel shades. Good job on your shine!

Very nice job nowyo . I think the rhyolite got some really good polish considering their softness!

Great batch, Russ. Of course, the crazy/Laguna lace is beautiful and you got a heck of a shine on the Lavic, but I love the rhyolite. The winner has to be anything self collected, though. Thanks for sharing your pics!

Thanks everybody. Mostly I do self collected rocks just because I think it's more fun. Once in a while, though, it's nice to pull out some lacey stuff or something.
Several comments about the rhyolite. Getting a good polish on it mostly starts with good material. The stuff in the picture is high silica content rhyolite from over near Goldfield. Feels almost like jasper to the touch. We have some locally that works up nice, also. Handle enough of it and you can tell when collecting whether it's good or not. Fun stuff.

The first of the unknowns wins here, we really like the broken and healed pieces, and that one is a dandy. Extra points for self collected.

The only rocks that I have ever paid money for were the Contest rocks that I bought a couple of months ago. And I will send my 5 best results back in for judging.
