I have no association with this other than I like to keep an eye on the local auctions in case something interesting pops up. A couple of weeks ago a Lortone 25lb pro rock tumbler came up (in the middle of a high tech company liquidation inventory - weird) and I took a stab at it. The original bidder stopped around $100 and I thought it was mine but these auctions have the "last five minutes" rule and a new bidder jumped in and I stayed in as long as I could - long enough to make him pay $200 - but then I had to stop. And I'm sure he is looking back at the auction saying "I almost got it for $110, except for one guy". I hope he has lots of rocks. A 25 lb tumber is beast and eats stone like a Labrador Retriever eats meat.

I looked at it for a while and saw several lots sell at the opening bid price but another more valuable stone shot up by a lot. I'm not interested in any of it and I've got to get back to work so enjoy if you can. |
