Was just wondering if there was a file upload area for the board. I was thinking it would be useful for things like user created tutorials, templates, plans, etc. I ask because I just spent the morning going through the "Inputs, Opinions and Tips for new cabbing. There were several things that would have been good to have in a accessible file area. Example were the template files from a past member that rockjunkie made available Steven

The forum software does not have a feature like this but from time to time I upload files (like the templates) to our server for safe keeping and easy access through links in posts. It's a bit clunky because files have to be sent to me for uploading but it's workable until a better solution comes available I guess. The problem with preserving parts of a dynamic and growing thread like the one you referenced is figuring out how and what parts get saved and how to catalog it all into a new thread or post.

That would be handy. There are many good threads I want to keep, so I copy the url at the top, paste into a new message in email, then drag it to a folder RTH.

Thanks for the answer. I feared that was what is was going to be. Maybe one Idea is a locked post in it's own forum or pinned to top of one that has those types links to the moderator uploaded files. As for cataloging maybe a table of contents like header page with the actual links embedded. ex. Link # Source Post Submitter Description ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 001 Cab Templates Input, opinions and tips for new cabbing rockjunquie Fullsize Cabachon pics for making your own templates. 002 003
004 etc. *END* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
