Got into rockhounding last year and shortly after that, I got my first 1 lb. rotary rock tumbler from Amazon. It wasn't long after that (one week after) I added a dual drum from Harbor Freight. A few months later I got my hands on a Thumler's Tumbler Model B tumbler. I have recently added a Thumler's UV-18 industrial vibe tumbler & a Lortone QT66 rotary tumbler. I know! Quite the leap in a very short time! This stuff is addicting! I love to self collect as well as purchasing rocks to polish. I'm still learning and hope to gain lots of knowledge from people who've been doing this longer than I have. The vibe tumbler is especially challenging so far! Trying to determine what rocks can tumble together is another. But that's why I'm here, to learn and meet other like minded individuals! Oh, some personal stats! I'm a 47 year old happily married woman who is mom to 2 furry babies of the feline variety. I live in the Columbus area of Ohio and before that I lived in NYC and before that the island of Puerto Rico where I was born. Nice to meet you all! Isabel

Welcome, Isabel, from Northern Arizona!
Not a tumbler myself, but there are world class tumblers on the forum that will be happy to help answer questions. There are many threads on the rock tumbling board that you can read through that may answer some them. It's a great place to start.
Have fun and enjoy the addiction!

Welcome from Kentucky, Isabel. I'm sure you are already aware, but you are less than an hour drive from some great tumbling material at Flint Ridge. If you've already been there and have some tumbles to show, we'd love to see them. Pictures are always welcome here.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I have not been to Flint Ridge yet but it's on my list for this spring! If you get to go, take about ten 5-gallon buckets with you and fill them all...what you don't use, the rest will all sell! LOL That is some seriously gorgeous material if you do get a chance to go.
