I don't have a lot of rocks to do an auction, but I do have jewelry. I want to contribute to the Proboards drive. This is what I propose, for all of you who wirewrap (silversmithers can start their own auction ) join in on this auction by adding a picture of a finished piece and description of the piece. My idea is that the winner will have a great variety to give as gifts during the year or to keep for themselves (or sell). If enough people do it, this auction should represent a lot of different styles. Let's see how this goes... How bout we end it in a week, next Sat evening the 3rd at 9 pm EST - That's my time, folks. So, add your piece and/or bid, but let's make it fun. You are not limited to contributing one piece, either.
I'll begin with a super nice, hard to come by, Silvery Snowflake Mohawkite from the Mohawk mine in Michigan. This material is metallic and very nice in person. In case you just want the cab, cut off the sterling wire. The cab is 6.7 grams 38x18mm. The pendant isn't much larger.
Beginning bid 30.00. Bid increments by whole dollar amounts. Thanks guys and remember- It's for a good cause! Bring out your best. ETA Funds should be sent to Tommy . Each jewelry donator should be prepared to mail their piece to the winner. US only please. UPDATE: The following pieces are currently part of the auction with more to come. Scroll through for pix of the actual pieces. A mohawkite pendant in sterling silver contributed by rockjunquie An agate pendant in silver and 14k gf by miket An assortment of jewelry including sterling silver and carnelian earrings and 14k gf gemstone rings contributed by betojdesigns A pair of smoky quartz and citrine earrings 14k gf contributed by rockjunquie A beautiful Graveyard Point agate pendant in copper contributed by jasoninsd A very nice arrowhead necklace with hematite contributed by fernwood A smaller sterling pendant of Atlantisite and emerald by rockjunquie A beautiful Fairburn agate pendant contributed by miket for the 150.00 mark. Way to go Mike! A wonderful Tree of Life jasper pendant contributed by drocknut A Stone pendant with chain contributed by fernwood A bright chrysocolla leather necklace contributed by Jahic A PINK Imperial drilled pendant on a silk cord contributed by gemfeller A graveyard point plume agate drilled set contributed by rockjunquie ...

Wow! Thanks rockjunquie. I don't make jewelry worth selling these days but I still have those several pieces of yours you sent me for a prior auction that didn't happen. With your permission I will post those here? I'm headed out the door for a looong day at work but I'll get it done in the next couple of days.

Ok I think I'm going to go with this one. Someone might have to assist with the ID- I believe it came from El JeffA . The cab is wrapped in sterling silver with gold bindings and is about 55x28mm.

Beautiful piece, Mike!!!! And the stone is awesome. Thank you so much! Thank you, ma'am! It's the least I can do to try to give back- everything I have learned over the last few years comes from the fine people here on RTH.

rockjunquie So the winner takes all, or do bidders just bid on individual pieces? Thanks.

miket. Re the gold bindings: is that gold color, red brass, or gold-filled, or 14 karat gold, or what? Thanks.

I'm hesitant to make a bid because there is not much action going on here. Those cans look awesome and I would love to have them but I would like to be persuaded. Let's make this exciting!!

Beautiful wraps Tela and Mike. Let me see what I have that I can contribute. I know I have a few wraps already done that could go to a good cause. To add in variety would you like me to add one of my Tree of Life wire wraps or would you rather stick with the theme of wire wrapped cabs?
