Hey all, I don't post in this part of the forum very often but I just wanted to let you know I'll be having a sinus procedure done to open up my sinus cavity and clean out an infection I've been battling since January. It is considered outpatient minor surgery and is done in my Ear Nose Throat doctor's office. I will be having the procedure on April 22, yep, next week. I don't know how I'll feel afterwards so if I'm not posting for a while just figure I'm recuperating. I hope to feel better soon and be back to posting, including some slabette boxes I have to sell. Wish me luck that the surgery goes smoothly and takes care of the problem. I'm not looking forward to it but it's the only way to get the infection out since the sinus cavity is blocked. I'll try to update this thread when it's over with.

Best wishes for all that. I suspect you will feel a lot better afterwards and after the healing. Keep us posted when you can.

I'm sorry. That sounds kinda scary. I hope the surgery goes well and your recovery. Most of all, I hope it takes care of your infection.

Good luck with your surgery, Di! I know you will feel much better once that infection is cleared out. In the meantime, positive, healing thoughts and prayers going up for you every day.
Please do try to let us know after you've had the surgery and are home how you're feeling when you're up to it.

Sinus troubles are awful. I can’t even begin to imagine how painful a sinus infection that requires surgery would feel. Regular sinus infections are bad enough.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery and I do hope they make things better going forward!

Wishing you an uneventful procedure and quick recovery, and hoping it will make problems like that no more than unpleasant memories.

Good luck. I had my own minor outpatient surgery (hernia repair) back in July. I know it's not even slightly similar, but just wanted to offer up that it was a few days of soreness that was easily managed with the horse pill version of ibuprofen (no oxy needed), and after that I felt better than I had in months. Wishing you the same.
Ugh. If we're comparing surgery stories, I think we're getting old.

Take care, we are rooting for you. Just a note, you may want to keep one of those long-armed grabbers handy, as I don't think you'll be wanting to bend over for a few days, and you might drop the remote.

Thank you all for the well wishes and the prayers. It was a lot less involved than I had thought it would be and was more like a minor procedure than a surgery which was a pleasant surprise. It went well according to the doctor and now I'm on to the hard part of healing up. I'm on an antibiotic and steroids plus rinsing my sinuses three times a day. I've only had to take pain medications twice so I'm glad of that. It seems like it has gotten worse but I'm told that a sign that it is healing. Today has actually been the worst day since the procedure with a bit more pain but it's not unbearable. Still getting stuffy nose but less of the yucky taste in my mouth so that is a good thing. The paper the doctor's office gave me said it could take 5-6 weeks to completely heal but I'm hoping for it to get better sooner. I have a follow up appointment on Thursday. I was going to reply to each of you individually but I'm just not feeling up to doing that, sorry. No, Ed, I didn't have any polyps just infection and a bit of fungus that was plugging the entrance to the cavities making them not to be able to drain correctly and trapping the infection inside. Stephan, yep, we're getting old...lol. Hope you are healing up well from your surgery.
