Hello fellow members, I found this group through a Facebook page, I have recently purchased a Lortone 3A rock tumbler and I am looking forward to learning about rock tumbling and sharing ideas with others. I deal with buying slabs and selling stone cabochons/ jewelry supplies and sell jewelry. I have 5 lbs recently purchased of stone small slabs too small to cab and want to use them in the tumbler to smooth them and then sell them to other jewelry designers for their projects as well as my own. Has anyone had experience in tumbling small broken slab chunks (1 inch or smaller sizes) in the Lortone tumbler? How was the outcome? With kind regards, Patricia (Mightycat Creations)

Just stick them in the rotary as filler tumble them with the rest of your stone

Ok thank you, but I do not have other stone so was wondering if I can just use the chunks on their own seeing as I have quite a bit of it to fill the barrel.

mightycatcreations You can absolutely tumble small slab chunks. Try to mix pieces of similar hardness. They turn out great.
