I’ve been working on some of the best agate of my long tumbling career. Most of the agates I bought from Shawn at The Rock Shed or from Kingsley North. The Botswana agates are from The Rock Shed. The LSAs are from Kingsley. I bought the small Lakers from Kingsley because of stubbornness. I don’t want to waste the energy tumbling ceramic. The Bots from The Rock Shed are incredible. They’re pink and orange. I cut some slabs from some of them. There are more to be sawed soon. There are definitely some orange and pink Bot cabs in my future. Here are a couple pictures fresh out of rough tumbling. The parallax shadows on some of this stuff is the best I’ve ever seen. I wish I had a vibratory for the finish work but the little Lortone is working for now. i can’t wait to show you guys the finished rocks. Does anybody have a good method to photograph shadow banders?

I need to put my name on my spray bottles so my wife doesn’t steal them. They clean out grit from pockets really well.

Those pink Bots are beautiful! The parallax effect is such a cool thing to see in those things. It's hard to imagine how such fine lines can be formed naturally.

Gorgeous Brent! I can't wait to see the finished product! I wish I had some advice for taking pics of the parallax shadows...but if you've seen most of my pics, you don't want any advice from me! LOL

Heaven! Some wonderful material. When will they be done? I’m just trying to get enough smalls to make a good grind. Probably a month until they’re finished. Maybe a little longer..

jasoninsdThose tube agates I posted a couple weeks ago are in there too. I have one 12 lb tumbler, but two barrels. Coarse grind is going constantly. The three pounder is falling behind a little. Hopefully it will be catching up soon. I need to finish a batch for my mental well being. Covid sucks. I’m vaccinated twice plus three weeks but my wife is still worried. The cool thing is that I will have some cool batches of tumbler fodder soon.

I hear you on the "morale imperative" with regards to finishing a tumble! I've got the Model B and a single three pound barrel...and I couldn't get anything to get out of coarse for a couple months. It was starting to feel like I was chasing my tail! I finally got enough to run the finals in the UV-18. It felt VERY satisfying! LOL Yes...Covid does...as does the serious effect it has had on the mental well-being of everyone... I've got some Botswana agates I cut in half. I couldn't decide if I wanted to tumble them, or cut them once more and cab them. My wife said tumble...but I'm really leaning toward cabbing. I know if I tumble them, "we" will get to keep them...if I cab them, they'll likely leave the nest - and I think my wife knows the outcome of either of those as well! LOL
