Hey everyone!
As the subject suggests, I'm originally from Minnesota, moved to California and will be moving soon to Arizona. I've been collecting rocks since I was a child but have taken to it more seriously as an adult and have been trying to get my last bit of collecting in California before I move this summer to start a PhD program in AZ. I look forward to meeting you all!

Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! Some of my favorite materials come from California. And it sounds like hounding in AZ isn't too shabby either...so at least you'll be able to continue your "hobby" in your new place.

I have the urge to search now that I'm about to move lol. I just polished up a beach stone I found with some wettodry sand paper. I'll try posting a photo of it. Otherwise, I haven't found much here.

I hear ya! I spent a couple years in Montana...just down the road where Dryhead Agates were mined during the time I was there. I wasn't into hounding back then...but in retrospect, I'm pretty sure I would have gotten more out of mining while I was there in college rather than drinking! LOL I'd like to see photos! One of the first cabs I made, I shaped it with a Dremel, but then hand sanded it...definitely not the easiest way.
