Got a commission job this morning. 2 slabettes were provided, with no ID. The material was bought in Arizona (Bisbee). One is for the commission and the 2nd is now mine. For sure the material contains copper. Hardness 5-6ish. Pictured wet. Any ideas?

Not sure if if king man Mojave turquoise from Colbaugh processing. Most of their material has smaller nuggets I believe. Here is part of the website www.kingmanturquoise.com/shop/pressed-composite-bricks. I do believe it is a composite but not made by kingman. I think Colbaugh came up with the name and any purple “turquoise “ is called that now. Can’t believe I said purple turquoise. You can always send them a pic and the will confirm it’s theirs and what it’s called

Sometimes they use brass, bronze, pyrite, or zinc between the nuggets. First one looks more like zinc on my screen

First one looks more like zinc on my screen Did some internet research and I would say with a fair degree of certainty that it is Mohave Purple Turquoise. The first picture is wet and is misleading in the color of the ore, it is definitely copper colored. Internet research shows that MPT consists of Kingman turquoise and a copper/tin alloy (bronze). My customer insists he bought it in Bisbee, so the only mystery is what was Kingman turquoise doing in Bisbee?

I have slabs of quite a few of their materials. Will sell to who ever likes it and that would be in MN. Still doesn't look like their Mojave though. Probably sawed and sold maybe 10 kilos.

Picked up a couple varied small slabs of this in Quartzsite a few years back. Here's two different colors of it, and a cab I made from the purple.
The purple type was in fact called Mojave Purple Turquoise. I can't tell you who produced it.
A cab of it
Pretty sure they just called the blue stuff Mojave turquoise.

Now I got my doubts. It looks nothing like your material. Yours has a much more brecciated like construction. I will contact Kingman Mines.

I’ve always called it Kingman. Love the colors, metals and brecciation.
