There's an estate sale next weekend just down the road from me. One of the items listed is a Lortone CE-14 rock saw. I tried to search out that model and I can't seem to find anything. I figure it's a 14" saw... I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this model rock saw? I was also wondering if anyone might know what it could/should be worth in used condition with an apparent new motor? I truly appreciate any ideas/information anyone may have.

Going to be either LS14 or a 14" drop saw. I prefer the LS14, as the drop saws can be a bit messy to use. The only downside to used lortone saws is that Lortone has discontinued saw AND parts sales due to the Chinese Highland Park company making virtual copies and running them out of the saw business. HP may have parts that can be adapted to fit or used directly, if you end up needing it. Drop saw would probably only require off the shelf hardware store parts, so there's that. All that said, if the LS14 is fully functional it could sell for up to $1200 or more around here, but personally I consider $800 or less to be the sweet price for anything that is not a Vintage FranTom or non chinese HP. Somewhat less for the drop saw, but that's personal preference.

If you can post a pic or two that would help.

CE is a label required to sell in Europe, ensuring the product meets a standard set by some regulatory agency(?). Maybe the saw is wired for a 220/240V power source. Interesting. Thanks for the heads up on this! The auction listed that it had a new motor...I wonder if the motor burned out due to wiring issues... Going to be either LS14 or a 14" drop saw. And thank you very much for the pricing info. I wouldn't have had any clue. Hopefully no one else will want it and I can get it for a song and a dance in case parts become an issue down the road... If you can post a pic or two that would help. The auction website had a billion and one pics of all the antique stuff for sale in the auction, but not one picture of any of the lapidary stuff! If I end up getting it, I'll post a bunch of pictures...
