Definitely cycling away from that 6k year ice age it seems. Maybe palm trees in the arctic will be a thing again in 10 or 20 generations. what got us this far to these tropical depressions nomor mild equators....

We had rain overnight up here in the high country, too. A nice, soaking rain. I saw some lightening sometime between 3 and 3:30 this morning, but no thunder. We had a real light show here in Dewey! And plenty of rain, probably another inch or so. The lightning was so bright and constant it woke me up at 3:45 a.m. and it went on and on, with plenty of thunder. This followed another big rain/hail/electrical storm Monday afternoon we thought might blow the house away. It dropped at least an inch or more of rain. It was nice to have the rain and to know the Monsoon season isn't a complete "Non-Soon" this year. You guys are getting all the action this year. It rained this afternoon and still is, on and off. Light showers, but pretty steady, which is a good thing. The folks up in Flagstaff and North/West of 40 got hammered. Was watching the news to keep up with the flash flood watches and they showed a street in Flag that was all flooded with a car floating down it and into a few more cars as it went.

Trails at a park near Green Bay are closed until further notice. The area has had about 11" of rain in the past month. Most recently over 3" of rain in less than 24 hours.

Over 12” of rain in a month = this. Pond and river are larger than during Spring run off. The pond is about 8’ deep in middle, as tenant dug some of it out. It still amazes me that the river flows uphill in places. There is about 2” of water beginning at bottom edge of 1st photo. The river is about 8” at deepest point here. I did not venture to East edge of property or where a drainage ditch was dug.

Hope to post photos later I took this AM of East side of property and drainage ditch. Can no longer access drainage ditch as tenant constructed an electric fence there without my approval.
Everything is a mess and then some. There is 2' of water over my next door neighbor's driveway. She does not have and will not install a culvert under the shared driveway. A new neighbor to the East of the driveway is refusing to allow a culvert, as this will cause frequent flooding on their newly purchased land.

actually amygdule only perused it never a serious reading not sure watzamotterforme mostly altho fairly deeply now I know my fascinations w/ “All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. ... Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't. One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it. The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you.” ― Carlos Castaneda, The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge

Nice little 30 minute haboob yesterday at dusk. I got a little video on the phone but I also got a trailer load of drywall for the shop area, so finding my youtube and uploading is low priority right now. We tarped it with just minutes to spare, and most of the rain bypassed us, thankfully. Gut the feelers out for someone to cut some concrete so the storage/saw shop building will stay dry in torrential rains.
