I was given this piece and am intrigued. The maker told me the following: He collected the material many years ago while going on a dino bone hunt with a lapidary club in Wisconsin. He said that the site was the only place in WI where dino bones could be found. The piece had an old label with: WI Dino Bone. I tried searching the internet for any places that have dino bones in WI and found nothing. This piece does not look like any dino bone I have seen before. It is lacking the usual cell structure. I would have thought it was Jasper. What do you think? Does anyone know of WI areas with dino bones? Thank you.

I saw a fossilized dinosaur bone this weekend and I'm not sure that one is a bone. It does have an interesting structure and could quite possible be one.

More of a dense mossy agate. No clear cellular structure to indicate it's bone.

WI does not have rocks of the correct age for Dino bone.

Agree with all of the above. That is why I wanted to ask. Something does not seem right.
The owner is a long time lapidary expert. I doubt he would misrepresent anything intentionally. He told me about the trip he had taken to collect the material.
While I was at the sale, a child picked up the "knife". He told her to put it down immediately and that it was in my box of stuff. He went on to tell her the story of how he found the dino bone. She thought it was cool.
