Found this today at my regular storage unit resale guy. Loretone 1.5 in great ship with about 10 lbs of various grits, some plastic pellets and a couple lakers and moss agates. The Folgers can is full of quartz, rose quartz, etc.; all inherited from my older brother who passed away last month. I have a ton of similar tumbling material I got from him. This material is all from the Southern Pacific Silica Quarry near Nuevo,Ca and we spent many a time motorcycling and collecting up there. The plan is to get a bunch of his stuff tumbled up for Christmas so I can put it in some nice bottles as gifts for my siblings, parents, and his kids / grandkids. Thinking of adding some special custom made labels with his name and where they were collected from to each bottle. This tumbler is going to work immediately while I wait for those elusive QT66’s show up at the Rockshed so I can really get some material moving.

Sorry for your loss. That is a terrific idea you have to give your loved ones something to remember your brother by.

Great idea on the gifts Quartz! I really like the idea of labeling the bottles with the contents. Sometimes people forget it if you just tell them.

Thanks for all the kind words! This was a 20 dollar bill well spent and I will for sure post some finished results down the road.

Cannot go wrong getting a Lortone for $20. I spent almost twice that on a t-bone for tonight's feast.

Another deal! Just picked up a Loretone QT 6 base in excellent condition for 10 bucks at the flea market! With this and the last 20 dollar tumbler I got at the top of the thread I’ve more than doubled my tumbling capacity. Already got the QT 6 rolling with some of my brothers stones; luckily I had a Sears 6 lb barrel laying around. The Rock Gods are surely looking favorably upon me!
