Do a quick search. there was a very detail post on this several years ago with lots of photos and a Youtube. I considered doing it that way until I saw the price of a good bull wheel and very few people or clubs have them. I do a lot of slabs but use a diamond flat lap.

I have polished several brazillian agate slabs on an 8" expando with a worn out 600 grit sc belt at high speeds, worked real well. Just do it in a well ventilated area.

Is this something that has to be done dry? I am thinking whoever was doing it on the bull wheel it was dry on a worn out disk and the rock dust generated was part of the process. The results were fast and a good polish. Maybe not collector grade but good enough to sell at shows. I will look for the old posts over the weekend. I may have saved it somewhere as I gave a class on how to polish slabs many years ago.

Not the same post I was thinking of but just as good. Everything you need to know about the method. It would be worth having the photos saved or updated.

Do you have saw marks on the slab? If not, step 1 is very aggressive. I went from saw to dry sand with worn out 600, then step 3.
