Use a bucket of muriatic acid/water to shine it up. Get it at Lowes to clean brick etc.

Great material and the acid bath is a great trick. You guys all all old pros but we should remind new members reading the site that eye protection and gloves are needed as well as a good pair of tongs. I have used a lot of pool acid to treat Septarians and it can do a number on skin. It stays in the voids so rinse several times in fresh water before you touch it. Just because you can buy it at Home Depot does not make it safe to use.

I also would go to a safety supply store and purchase rubber gloves like the high voltage folks use. They protect hands/forearms from sulfuric acid as well as HCL and HNO3.

Thanks for the info and safety tips everyone! Definitely no room to be careless working with acid. I'm hoping to dissolve most of the crushed crystal crust from one of the big pieces and then etch the whole thing. Not sure if possible or not but got plenty of material to experiment with.

If you can - or more to the point - are willing to take pics, it would be cool to see the effects - whether it's a win or a bust.
