Hi everybody. I came across this forum googling various rockhounding information and really enjoyed the information and community. Gemstones, crystals and whatnot were always around the house growing up. My parents and grandparents used them for various healing properties which has stuck with me up through adulthood. I now have 3 kids, (14, 6, and 3) and they are all really showing interest in the crystals I have. So, just the other day I found a local rockhounding spot and took them out for a few hours at a gravel bar along the river. We all had a great time and found some small pebbles, red jasper, and one clear agate just a hair under 2". It's definitely the biggest agate I've ever found and pretty exciting for us all.
We now have a rock tumbler on the way and we're all excited about the new hobby and planning our new adventures. Looking forward to the community here and absorbing all the knowledge I can.
Cheers!
