Hiya everyone! Here's a photo I recently took of a Leland Blue in my collection. I've been experimenting with mineral photography a lot lately and decided to try my hand at my favorite Michigan treasure, Leland Blue slag. I will most likely be doing a series on slag much later down the line as I'm working to create an educational resource on slag in general. While not a stone, it fascinates rockhounds as if it were. It's been a great journey of mine to uncover many of the secrets on slag creation so that I can help and educate others on the many characteristics of slag, the history of it, and how it was created. So expect more photos like down the line showing off the crazy variety of slag, I've got many in my collection to share!

Nice piece of slag (and I don't mean the British version! LOL)! And to be honest, that picture is outstanding! I love the reflection...that's fantastic!

Very nice. I find slag all the time near old mines and never thought to collect it. I wonder what my wife will say if I start bringing some home? Nice pic.

We live about 50 miles from Leland, and it's a collecting site my wife wants to try before it gets too cool.
