How much to pay for slab? Even before I was selling I did an evaluation. Slabs to me are only cabbing material so a slab is a collection of patterns. My guide line for a good purchase is revenue from sold cabs is 3 times the cost of the slab. Blue Biggs is very expensive so most slabs won't produce a good ROI. This slab on auction at full moon started at $10 with $8 shipping. I thought I could get two $30 cabs from it even though most was not usable so I bid $12 and won the auction. The better the pictures the more I am willing to bid because it helps with the valuation. I saw a band of good pattern, colors and values.
The cab on the left will produce a really nice cab. Second picture is the face and first picture the back. I expect the face will lose a little. The other one has some white lines but I don't think it will fracture. I am relatively sure that I hit my target on this purchase.
