It will slab just fine. I'd use water, too. It is very soft and tricky to cab. Skip the coarse grit wheels and maybe start on the 220 to shape the outline of the cab and then switch to the 280 to start doming. Very light touch on the wheels (but not chattering). I'd probably use diamond for the polish too. Don't want to get it too hot.

When I saw it, I thought oh some leopardskin or cheetah, We need some of that. I didn't look too close at it, just threw it in our pile we were buying. It's approximately 4 lbs
Nate put it in the saw and we quickly realized it isn't what I thought it was.
There is mica throughout and it is gorgeous

Dang...I thought you guys already had a nice haul...but now they're just getting better and better!
Whatever that is, I think it's amazing! I love the multiple-layer type structure to the orbs!

Hey there! Glad to see you two having so much fun at a show. Was envious when I saw the photos of all the stuff you picked up there.
The "leopard/cheetah/spotted" rock resembles what was sold some years ago as "Mexican Flower Jasper". A rhyolite, but some of it took a great polish. The background colors varied from piece-to-piece, but the shape and distribution of the orbs looks the same. We bought a chunk at Q about ten years ago.

MsAli Ali, that last unknown looks like it could be Vistaite maybe?

Thank you!
I'll look that one up. I was thinking it was some type of poppy jasper out of stone creek.

Thank you for confirming what my gut told me that is what it was. Then I doubted myself.
I picked up 4 pieces of it for a couple bucks.
If it is Vistaite, you scored bigly!

I think selling some of my pieces was a huge highlight for me. Sometimes, I get discouraged and Nate is such a wonderful partner to have a booth with and we had so much fun. The guy selling the stuff was a bonus. There are some things I wish I would of gotten. Hopefully he will give us a call one day

Hi Ali.
The poppys in your piece look more yellow than the stuff I was thinking of. I like yours better... .
The inside of the multi-colored green chunk looks like some of the "Fancy Jasper" (from India) that we have. Rocks2dust had more experience with Vistaite than anyone else I've ever had any communication with. I don't know anyone else who has a collection like his.
