The remaining geyser on my Genie seems to have given out (one developed a leak at the stem a few years ago, so I have just clamped off that piece of tubing). It appears to be related to wheel above the shaft not wanting to turn. It feels stiff when giving it a kick-start, and seems to have play in terms of sliding toward and away from the shaft. Also, the belt is original, meaning it is about 12 years old. It has some places that look worn, but seems reasonably tight. Even when the wheel does turn, the geyser does not achieve the height it did just two weeks ago. The problem developed after I oiled the leathers (two drops of 3-in-1 at each red screw) a few weeks ago. It seems like a gradually developing issue since then. At this point, I can kick-start the pump by helping the wheel along with the motor running. Then when I replace the wheels, and restart it, there is about a 50:50 chance that the pump will kick on. If it does, it barely wets the wheel, and runs for less than a minute. Any advice is appreciated, I am hoping the fix is easy and relatively inexpensive. Looks like oil on the belt, the pulley on the shaft might also be slipping which it will do without the wheels on the shaft as the tension from the wheels is what puts the tension on the shaft pulley to keep it from slipping. I would recommend getting a pump rebuild kit and going through the whole thing, its probably due for it. If you are close you can bring it by and I will rebuild it for you, I have done dozens of them, its fairly simple. Soak the geysers in CLR overnight and then blow them out to get them acting like new.
These are pretty simple and work well with very little upkeep, a rebuild occasionally keeps them like new.

Tony Thanks, Tony Unfortunately, I'm not close. I imagine that the rebuild kits are available through DP directly. Are they also available elsewhere? I need to also replace all my wheels (I made those last for 10 years as well), and the broken geyser, but it will be a while before I can afford it all. In the meantime, I'll try the CLR trick, try to clean the belt and replacing the tubing. I'm sure there is some leakage there as well.

My left side wheels froze and also the pump belt broke. I bought the kit but the belt can't be replaced without removing the wheels. I have the trim saw attachment. The saw jammed and the wheels just fell off. I really tried to get them loose rotating clockwise. While they were jammed I bought aquarium pumps and brass geysers. The Genie geysers provide more water but two non Genie Geysers under a wheel does a good job. I bought an extra right side adaptor for new left side wheels. The already mounted left side wheels are still usable. I mount the new top 80 on the right side and replace frequently.

When my air pump had problems on my Titan the DP rebuild kit was about the price of an air pump plus I had to do the repair. I bought a Fish tank pump instead and I am very pleased. These are the ones I liked and it was for the larger grinder and geyser.
