Howdy! New to this board. Boy am I glad I found ya all!! My name is raine (pronounced rainey-i oddly get asked allot)... and I am addicted to pocketing rocks, fossils, plants and sometimes small animals. Don't ask, don't tell policy works here, right? Live in Illinois but travel a little so my guy can hunt/fish while I wonder aimlessly around, muttering to myself and stashing rocks and shiny things in my pockets. I LOVE fossils, geodes and other rocks. I have thousands of both! My guy, knowing my love for geodes and fossils, took me for a drive this past weekend to where he grew up. He's been telling me stories of how his and the neighbors driveways and passing roads were lined with geodes and fossils. Of course I thought he was exaggerating a bit but nope, he actually played it down a bit. We get there and I am speechless for once. At one point I'm sitting surrounded by all these marvelous rocks and my goober self tears up. Yep, I'm one of those. Of course he looks at me like I've grown an extra head and I try to casually blame it on a sideways fart. He didn't buy it. Anyhow!!! I now have 6, 5 gallon buckets of geodes and fossils, yet no fancy equipment to make em all shiny and pretty. Granted, most I'll keep in their beautiful natural form. But I'm also addicted to crafting and I'm bored out of my head. So, I would like to make some jewelery and other fun stuff. I do have allot of tools but no tumbler or belt sander. Just a small handheld sander. Which I suppose will do, except I'm impatient and get bored easy. Aren't we all though? So, any advice is HIGHLY welcome!

Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! Your intro had me rolling! My wife looked over at me wondering why I was laughing, so I had to share the "fart" excuse with her - yours...not mine! LOL You definitely came to the right place if you're looking for enablers...'cause none of us are gonna help you OUT of this rabbit hole!

Welcome from Western New York. As far as giving advice, it would all depend on one, your budget, and two, how do you want to start off. Ask away, there are always experienced people here who just love to share their knowledge. Good luck with however you decide to start.
