I only ran the granite so I wasn't just running one barrel with two stones in it. (The two white ones at the bottom.) I don't know what the white ones are. They were in a cloth bag in the lost & found at work and after not being claimed for over a month they were about to be tossed in the trash. So I took them home to tumble. They shined up very nicely. I'm running out of rocks to tumble that are worth tumbling. I was supposed to go fishing and rock hounding last month in the Mono County, CA area, but within hours of arriving my mom had troubling breathing. Long story short she ended up having to have a pacemaker put in and we had to go home so she could be back at sea level as soon as the hospital released her. So we spent three days just going between the motel and the hospital. She's doing well though she did have a stroke on October 5th but isn't showing any signs of it now. I'm thinking of just buying some stones just to have some to tumble in the meantime. I've done it a few times now but I was looking forward to tumbling stuff I found.

Honestly, I sometimes dig thru the rocks around parking lots or in front of businesses while I have time to kill. Obviously don't take everything but picking up a handful of stones here and there should cure what ails you.

If you value your time AT ALL it is well worth procuring some non-gravel rough to tumble. Much more rewarding. Whether you travel-hound or purchase. Lots of time goes into tumbling. And electricity and grit. If you pull out cloudy basalt after all that it’s not rewarding.

Indeed. If you are interested in some brecciated jasper, I can do you up with a nice SFRB-full for shipping plus a few bucks. Send me a PM, if interested, and I can send you pics and we'll talk.

I figure it's good practice since I'm new to rock tumbling and the only club that meets at a time I can attend is still only meeting online due to Covid, so I'm learning everything on my own. Plus I find even granite has secrets that can only be exposed by tumbling. However, I probably will take people up on buying some rocks from them since right now I can't go traveling. Not until mom's healed up.

Not until mom's healed up. I went back and read your original post again. I’m wishing you and your mom the best. The white stones are quartz I believe. Sounds like you have experience with purchased rough so you know what you’re doing.
