I live in 2 bedroom apartment and I'm already feeling the squeeze as I've converted my bedroom into my rock tumbling room . Anyway, I decided last night that I need to downgrade and what I've done throughout the summer is occasionally gone through my rough and getting rid of 40-50% each time I look for a new batch, talking like 15-20 lbs I would guess. All that being said, I still have far too many rocks for the two tumblers I have. I also am starting have more than enough polished rocks lying around and it will only get worse through the winter. I've moved like 6 times in the last 5-6 years so I try to keep my extras to a minimum...who knows where the breeze will blow... If anyone has any interest let me know, otherwise most of these are headed back to the lake. I guess I'd prefer trades (anything that hard that will tumble), downsized of course, but I'm willing to sell as well. This is kind of a stab in the dark post, not sure what kind of response to expect if any.
I don't know what kind of weight you can send in the prepaid boxes, this whole thing is new to me. These are from my first 6 months of tumbling, I'm not claiming they are perfect but I believe they are better than average, learning as I go...just a heads up. Everything on the right is under 10g I believe, everything on the left is 10g and above.
The ones on the left I've been trying to get rid of for a few weeks now and can't quite pull the trigger, that's my last "purge". Just weighed it at 47lbs. That being said, there are over 100 lbs of rock in the middle bin and most likely the right bin. Everything in the right bin is over 125g. Which is roughly the size of rock in your closed hand.

Flat rate boxes are free at the post office. Get a large & medium one and fill them up and see what you can send. I think there is a 70lb limit. The post office I use in Tucson every year hates rock people and hides the boxes that time of year but I just bring some from home if we fly to Tucson. Good luck with your sale.

Those prepaid boxes hold a lot, but you can check with USPS for the exact amount.
What are you charging per pound of tumbles? Maybe you should find out the limit on SFRB, fill a box with tumbles, to see what it will hold, and come up with a price for it.

Yea I can do that... I assume USPS is the way to go?
I really would rather not use FedEx, the hub out of South Bend is like the pit of hell.

Tumbled sold. I may do this again in the future, but I have a lot to replenish for now.
I still have rough if anyone would like, probably won't keep it much longer.

I could be interested in a MFRB, depending on how much you want for it.

I'm asking because I have mine divided into two different size groups. MFRB means Medium Flat Rate Box I assume...let me see how many rocks fills a box like that and I will get back with you. I just need to visualize the amount of rocks and check the weight.

That's what I get for debating instead of jumping in. I do coarse grinding with a Thumler model B (10-15 lb) and the rest of the stages with a Lortone 33B (4-6 lb). I prefer to work with stones 2" or smaller, but I can work with larger.

We have pretty much the same setup, I have a AR12 and a 33b plus a vibe so rocks should fit both ways. I'll be in touch

I can usually get in around 28 pounds of rock into a MFRB if I pack it well. Make sure you tape the box well so that it doesn't blow out on the sides when they drop the box, which they WILL do.

That's good to know, I thought it was 20lb limit....but after looking again, it says 20lb International. I have my duct tape ready.

I have my duct tape ready. You weren't kidding! This came in 4 days ahead of USPS's projections, just in time to sit on my porch in the rain. A nice treasure trove... ...with a couple of well-polished bonuses... ...and one I seriously doubt came from the lake
