was perusing a biographical book on the life and times of Pliny the Elder
he was a colonel and about 60 miles north of Vesuvius

They saw the cloud growing that morning
then the urgent help message
was relayed to them

Pliny the Elder manned his fast oared boats
and sailed down the to the pending disaster

Pliny the Younger stayed behind with his Mom

I think things later- the next day-
even got serious for Pliny & his Mom

Not sure why I didn’t check the book out? New biography
Those Plinys’ were inquisitive & documenting Romans

Its on the list...

and got to agree some of narration on these docu
are like nails of slate

I agree!

Something MAJOR I learned years ago from Paul Harvey is to allow space for what you said to sink in.

Without that space you are better off keeping your trap shut.

As for "music" - Take a look at the music thread. Seldom do two of us like the same stuff.
Usually whatever we grew up with is the only thing worth hearing.

I can't stand the "Desperation Racket" my children like.
