Hello. I have been lurking, learning, absorbing as much as possible on this site. Thank you all. I know there technically isn't such a thing as a dumb question, but I sure feel like I have a lot of them!

Hello, well welcome man we ALL were new once and we are happy to have new joiners. Ask away, it’s how we keep this stuff alive.

Hey! South of the North Shore I know where that shore is! I'm south of it too - but...aren't we all? (OK except the people who live there) lol Is it ok to ask a question here or do I need to keep it on each discussion topic link?

It’s cool to ask a question here but you may get more views if the title reflects the question. In the appropriate section
But yeah ask away!!

I Have a lotto that I bought end of Sept. and first used mid Oct - have run 5 times. I was cleaning it out this AM and noticed that there are 3 "bubbles" on in inner wall of the barrel. 1. I either never noticed them before or 2. This is new. Is it normal, defective, can it still be used (waiting to run a batch today) or ask for warranty issue. And if needed will move to appropriate thread (which?)

If yours pushes in like an actual air bubble in the rubber I would pursue warranty.

I have to push exceptionally hard to feel it move. It isn't soft and flimsy. Thanks - will go and throw the load in now. Nothing is super "precious" at this point. Doing the least lovable ones as I gain proficiency and also finding I need another large tumbler for stage 1 - ha. Two 6# aren't enough....quickly figuring out that this is an addiction

The loto is small but mighty. It can keep up with a lot of rotary stage 1. For me personally I often grind stage 1 on a 80 grit wheel then just toss it in the loto.

Welcome aboard! We're glad to meet you. It's always nice when someone comes out of the shadows.

Welllll, you WERE one of the people I was lurking. We were in SD at the end of Sept. I had a blast rockhounding there for the first time and saw areas I haven't seen before - including the edge of a cliff in Hell's Canyon. I also learned what gumbo feels like in the river. I will be tumbling for a year with what I found!

Asking dumb questions is the Best way to get un-dumb. Problems: 1. People not understanding your question. 2. People having never considered your question. 3. People being dumber than you. 4. Asking the wrong person. 4a. Asking an analytical like me. Ask me what time it is and I'll try to tell you how to build a watch. 4b. Ask an air-head and they will answer a totally different question. 4c. Ask a dead person and they intentionally ignore you.
