Hi!!! My name is Amy, and I just found all of you last night. I have already learned sooo much. I live in Kansas, and have always loved pretty rocks. Some of the pictures I have seen are amazing!! Makes me a little jealous, Im surrounded by flint, types of chert, and quarts. 🤣. I started tumbling about 4-5 months ago, slowly upgrading. I have 2 double 3 lbs and a single from Harbor Freight. ( I know, I bought the first one, last 2 were gifts). So far nothing major. Upgrading to a better model and a vibe as soon as I can afford it. Thank you to everyone who posts, I learned from U-Tube and Google, with tons of mistakes, and the info here is AMAZING!!

Welcome from Charles Town WV. (Think John Brown's pre-Civil War raid.) Like you, I'm new to this hobby and am pretty much hooked. I have learned a lot from the great folks here, but also via trial and error. Like you, my wife and I bought our first tumbler from Harbor Freight; three on-sale single-barrel tumblers for holiday gifts last year, keeping one for ourselves. Since then, we (mostly me) have become enthralled with this hobby. So far, I've mostly done multiple tumbles using pounds of river rock from our garden for a rock-based back-splash for our kitchen sink.
Oh, and I'm trying to convince my wife that we need a good double-barrel tumbler (or two).

I found a small piece of petrified wood near Gove KS once upon a time. Just big enough to cut a 25x18 cab. You must be in the flint hills.
