Tommy About how many pounds of Sheep Creek total? It looks like 20+ pounds based on photo. No need to weigh, just confirm (or rebut) my estimate. I might be interested.

Up to you. I'm bad judging the size of rocks via photos, so I was just curious about the ratio of Sheep Creek to other stuff. The other stuff looks interesting as well, but the value of the box -- to me at least -- is in the Sheep Creek.

All, I've had sellers remorse on this one and I don't think I've properly scratched the itch on cutting it, especially the big piece, so I'm going to pull it down. holajonathan and six days with no takers got me thinking about the specific value point and I definitely should have weighed it as I now have. As it turned out the biggest piece weighs 16.5 lbs, and along with the other pieces 28.5 lbs of Sheep Creek. Total weight of the box was around 39 lbs. |

You made the right decision Tommy...although I was contemplating this pretty heavily. I'm glad you're not going to have to experience that "instant regret" feeling though!  |

All, just for clarification because the way I said it was definitely confusing. After weighing and determining the price per lb my opinion is I had priced it too high which was why it hadn't sold. The finest Sheep Creek agate is nearly transparent with well defined plumes and dendrites and few cracks, so for this particular batch of rock with this much opaque color I think $6 per lb is too high. After six days of no sales my choice seemed to be lower the price to $3 or $4 per lb and get rid of it, or pull it back and scratch the itch to cut the big rock while I still have my 18" saw. |

I think the unlikelihood of replacing that piece would've been the deciding factor for me...but I'm learning I'm a rock hoarder...ahem...kinda like some other people I'm getting to know, so my own personal actions might not be the best example of what to do! LOL |
