I've got too many pokers in the fire...need to finish one group or the other lol I need slag glass in my life. Thanks bro, one more thing to add my list of future tumbles, 😆. Septarian is looking good. I've run mine twice in corn cob with AO 14000, the mud won't polish but the brown & yellow gets shiny. brybryDo you still want Leland or did I already send you some??? Would anyone be interested in cabbing or tumbling slag glass? I have found plenty this year in the few rockhounds I've done and have more than my fair share. The handful near the quarter are a few with more potential IMO.
I guess if you are interested let me know, we can work something out. Not really a sale per se, I just have more than I care to keep on hand and I'm sure I'll find more
I don't know if it's big enough to cab and this is for sure a man made and likely material you'll want to use some kind of mask with, it has an odor and is more gaseous than normal when I crack the lid after a week of tumbling.

I realize this is about a year after you posted, but I just came across your post. If you still have some slag glass looking for a home, I'd love some. I'd be happy to trade some fancy obsidian (from Glass Buttes) for it. -Kirsten

Hey no worries. I did get rid of most of my stock from last year, but I think I have a 2-2-1/2 lbs left I'd be willing to trade. What is fancy obisidian, snowflake?

Thanks for responding! I have an assortment collected from Glass Buttes, OR. I can't necessarily tell from the outside but many samples have gold sheen, silver sheen, black lace, mahogany, silver or green banding, and sometimes rainbow. If you're really lucky sometimes you'll get a fire layer. I posted more photos a couple days ago. No snowflake though. I can take some photos of the rough if you like.

Here some rough pieces of obsidian I have available. It is very difficult to see, but I chose some that should have some interest. The bottom piece has obvious black and clear layers, going clockwise: the next piece has a few micro-layers, the top has some mahogany which is often associated with gold sheen, the one of the right has fine gray and black stripes, and the middle one has silver sheen. Please let me know if you are still interested in a trade. I also have a few pieces of dark, teal green jasper I just collected from the coast.
