Interesting. I picked up some slabs of this last summer at a rock sale for $1/slab. I didn’t know what it was but I always buy orbicular/poppy if I can get it for cheap.

The first one sold for $35 shipped and expect the others will go for about the same. I'm priced out based on what I can sell a cab for. 15 years ago when I bought Morgan Hill, I bought some Guadalupe and Hornitos but obviously not enough.

Yeah if the size was the same as the three remaining then I would tap out also. When subjected to the "thumb test" all of those would yield about one large cabochon in my fat hands - at $35 I would need to sell the cabochon in the 2.5x range ($88) range or it isn't worth it. Guadalupe differs from MH because the true beauty is in the totality of the pattern and once it is cut to cab size it becomes a little bit single note. It still sells but not as fast as MH. Yeah, hind sight, right? At a garage sale years ago I walked away from a GORGEOUS 20# chunk of old school Ocean Jasper with all the beautiful colors, pinks, oranges, greens, etc. I can still see it in my head. The lady wanted $200 which at the time was a hell of a lot of money for a rock

I ran into the seller at a Reno show not long after and it was $55 a pound. The best part of selling cabs is that a person doesn't have to worry about spending the grocery money on rocks. We all have stories about missed opportunities.
