Before I get started, for future reference would it be better if I were to post all of this on the previous Shaver Lake thread or is it fine if I make a new thread for the results?
Anyway, Here's how the trip went! We got there and we were on the opposite side of the lake from Amethyst Cove so that already made it difficult. The next day I drive over there with my Grandpa and the access gate was closed due to all of the fires, so instead we try to go to a creek just to get some fishing in and all the creeks are closed too. We ended up going to a part of the lake and it was a complete mudhole, so I got the idea to try digging anyway just to see what I could find. My cousins were with me and one of them helped for a little bit then he got bored and shortly after I gave in because I only got about two feet in and the mud was ice cold and it was just not fun. I then just walked with my cousins and we all found some neat stuff. Here's the photos!
The Mud hole of a Lake
A little kid fish lure my cousin found which we thought was hilarious.
Here's my attempted mudhole. Maybe would've gone better if the sun wasn't setting as I was doing this...
The Bucket view of all of the rocks I got! So let's look at all my treasures from this vacation.
These photos don't do it justice but This was one of my favorites! There is so much color to it and it was unlike any of the other stuff I found throughout the day. My favorite part is the purple line that runs through it.
Here's the best photo showcasing the middle, lovely layers here.
Some pretty quartz, almost all of what I got was quartz.

My other favorite stone of the day! It is transparent in the grey parts it's gorgeous.
More quartz, very white.
This one is also transparent, maybe this is the smoky quartz another member of the forum told me about.
Some more smoky quartz, the lighting makes it look browner rather than grey.
A very orange piece, a lot of the quartz had an orange layer or was just orange.
A better example of the yellowish orange quartz.
Another good piece of the yellowish orange quartz, very pretty stuff. I wasn't expecting so much from shaver besides potential Amethyst honestly.
Now here's some really grey quartz, this is probably more likely smoky quartz.
Another orange piece, looks like a nugget.
Overall I had a blast! sure we got skunked fishing but still family fun and rocks is always priceless.
