I just bought some lampwork stuff and am waiting for my butt to get organized so I can start. That is so cool, Ali! I can't wait to see what kind of bead creations you come up with. I've always wanted to try that, but I just don't see myself starting another hobby at my "advanced" age. Oh I know you are not of advanced age! I've always wanted to try this and am super eager to get going.

MsAli do you have a recommended video to start with? I'm completely new to this... I am watching devardi glass tutorials. My focus will be on lampwork beads

Jeez, so many but since we both got new horses, they have dominated most our time. Love wildlife photography too.

Rock stuff obviously Fishing, gardening, growing mushrooms, pour painting.
Most of my hobbies I haven't been able to enjoy due to 6 day weeks at work from being short handed. It's been a lot of getting started again and have to put it away because my work schedule got wonky again. Hoping to fire them back up when I settle into the new job.

Hobbies, I surf , although I haven’t been at it like when I was younger. Nothing beats a good surf, makes you feel alive. Cold water surfing is frankly pretty dang good. Nova Scotia is probably my favorite surf destination. I was into the motorcycle scene for years, built my own bikes, still have 2. 1975 shovel and 97 road king , both custom and totally original. I built my own boat for fishing, giving it to my nephew on the spring. Organic gardener, just added weed growing into the mix. Very rewarding. I’m a life long carpenter, built all my own furniture and kitchen cabinets. Then I found rock tumbling. It’s been the most rewarding by far. It’s taught me patience, something I lack. It’s one of the best things I do. Round it out with pool playing, have a table in my shop, practice, practice , practice. Always busy , it keeps you going!

Thanks for posting the link to your glasswork, rockjunquie! It’s beautiful! My wife and I took many glassblowing classes until we moved away from the glass studio. It was so much fun. We also did some fused glass but I have never tried lampworking. I can’t wait to see how your lampworking turns out MsAli! Here are some of the pieces we made. I was terrible at the delicate stuff, but the bigger pieces were a lot of fun. We took a class on single father/single blow Venetian style glassblowing and I think I came away with only 1 or 2 pieces after 6 or so classes. That was a challenge! The last bowl was one of my favorites. It had a ribbed texture that you can’t really see. Unfortunately, my furry friends in the background of some of the pictures were playing around shortly after this picture was taken and shattered it.

Thank you! Yeah, glass blowing and lamp working are different animals. Lampworkers usually just say the generic "glass blowing" because ppl know what that is.
Ya'll's glass vessels are amazing!! I love the next to the last one. Too bad about the broken one, it's beautiful, too. What a talent. I know it is difficult work.

My recent hobby is to tinker with new electronic technology. Most of them involve gadgets paired to a cell phone. Drones being the favored one.
